FuoriSalone 2025

7 apr 2025

Connected Worlds" is the theme of Fuorisalone 2025, a concept that promotes participatory and generative design, celebrating the art of engagement through design and forms of artificial intelligence.

The theme "Connected Worlds" invites us to reflect on how design can play a crucial role in connecting different dimensions of our lives, from the natural environment to advanced technologies, from cultural traditions to future innovations.

"Connected Worlds" is an invitation to design not only to express creativity and ingenuity, but also to promote a sense of unity and global cooperation.

"Connection" can be understood in various ways:

  • Connection between physical and digital worlds: Artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), and smart devices interact to improve the quality of life in homes and cities.

  • Connection between different cultures that influence each other.

  • Connection between man and environment: Imagining design as increasingly committed to reducing its ecological impact. Projects that show how sustainable technologies and renewable energies can connect in urban and domestic contexts.

  • Connection between people and communities through careful design of public spaces that foster social interaction.

  • Connections triggered by installations that invite sharing and dialogue, thanks to projects that explore how architecture can create inclusive and accessible spaces for all, promoting inclusion.

  • Connection between spaces and people through innovative solutions for urban mobility.

  • Connection through various media and disciplines that share information and knowledge.

The theme "Connected Worlds" reflects some of the themes that emerged with more strength and depth during the last Milan Design Week, where connections were undoubtedly protagonists, involving the public, companies, and industry professionals.

"Connected Worlds" is also an extension of the themes proposed by Fuorisalone during previous editions, from the latest one in 2024 "Materia Natura" – designed to investigate and discover the multiple dimensions in which nature can manifest itself as a source of inspiration, design material, and guide for a sustainable future – to "Forme dell'Abitare," "Tra Spazio e Tempo," and "Laboratorio Futuro," outlining a path that supports the values of a conscious design culture attentive to the new forms of knowledge that influence the context in which design operates.

The theme of Fuorisalone 2025 will therefore be an important opportunity to celebrate relationships and the art of engagement through design, highlighting how forms of skill hybridization, as well as interactive and immersive experiences, can transform our way of living, working, and interacting with the world around us.

This year Silvia Badalotti, prompt designer, and photographer, worked together with Artificial Intelligence to create three subjects that tell the theme of Fuorisalone 2025 and the connection between different worlds. Each subject represents a part of a cycle, in which each element – person, technology, nature – is essential for the life and prosperity of the other. Circularity emerges as a central theme of the campaign: humanity creates technology, technology impacts nature, and damage to nature inevitably affects humanity. The coordinated image of this year's Fuorisalone is therefore a call for balance, the need to harmonize innovation, respect for the environment, and awareness of our role in the world.
