Il Grattacielo Pirelli è un edificio iconico, progettato dall’architetto Gio Ponti negli anni ‘50, l’intervento di recupero al quale ha partecipato il nostro studio, è volto a preservarne il valore storico-artistico, migliorandone al contempo la funzionalità.
Il restauro punta a valorizzare gli interni e le aree comuni, mantenendo lo spirito originale del design, ma integrando tecnologie moderne al fine di migliorarne l’efficienza energetica e la sostenibilità. Materiali di pregio e soluzioni estetiche eleganti dialogano con la storia.

Il Pirelli, ha un valore simbolico unico per la città di Milano e ne rappresentando un pezzo di storia degli anni ‘50. ll restauro del Pirelli vuole porre l’attenzione sull’importanza di preservare le radici culturali, integrandole in un contesto urbano in evoluzione.

The Pirelli Tower is an iconic building, designed by architect Gio Ponti in the 1950s. The restoration project, to which our studio contributed, aims to preserve its historical and artistic value while simultaneously improving its functionality.
The restoration focuses on enhancing the interiors and common areas, maintaining the original spirit of the design but integrating modern technologies to improve energy efficiency and sustainability. High-quality materials and elegant aesthetic solutions create a dialogue with the building’s history.
The Pirelli Tower holds a unique symbolic value for the city of Milan, representing a piece of 1950s history. Its restoration highlights the importance of preserving cultural roots while integrating them into an evolving urban contex.

Il restauro del moderno del Pirelli pone un’attenzione particolare sulle scale interne, un elemento chiave nella configurazione spaziale.
I piani, nel progetto, sono stati destinati agli uffici così come era in origine, a questi è stato aggiunto un nuovo collegamento tra i piani 29 e 30.
La scala è stata progettata in acciaio con gradini in legno makorè e parapetti trasparenti in vetro, combinando così rigore e calore, esaltando leggerezza visiva e continuità verticale.

The restoration of the modern Pirelli building places particular focus on the internal staircases, a key element in the spatial configuration. The floors have been designated as office spaces, maintaining their original purpose, with the addition of a new connection between the 29th and 30th floors. The staircase is designed in steel with steps made of makoré wood and transparent glass railings, combining precision and warmth while enhancing visual lightness and vertical continuity.

Il restauro del Pirelli a Milano che lo studio ha seguito nel 2002, rappresenta un esempio significativo di intervento sul patrimonio moderno. Progettato da Gio Ponti, l’edificio è stato oggetto di un intervento che ha combinato un approccio filologico a soluzioni contemporanee.
Il pavimento è un esempio straordinario di artigianalità e innovazione. Durante la costruzione originale, Gio Ponti scelse materiali che riflettessero l’eleganza e la modernità del design razionalista italiano. Il linoleum colorato, utilizzato per i pavimenti, fu selezionato non solo per la sua praticità, ma anche per la possibilità di creare una palette cromatica unica, mescolata artigianalmente per armonizzarsi con l’estetica complessiva dell’edificio.
Nel restauro, si è cercato di rispettare questa tradizione, preservando l’integrità dei materiali originali e, dove necessario, integrandoli con soluzioni moderne che ne garantissero la durabilità senza compromettere l’aspetto estetico. Questo approccio ha permesso di mantenere il pavimento come un elemento distintivo e simbolico dell’edificio.

The floor of the Pirelli Skyscraper is an extraordinary example of craftsmanship and innovation. L’area siderurgica Breda, si estendeva tra la direttrice nord-est Milano e la ferrovia (linea per il Gottardo), su di una superficie di 300.000 mq, di cui 50.000 coperti (1936). Avviata durante la prima guerra mondiale per la fabbricazione di armi, la siderurgia Breda venne progressivamente dismessa durante gli anni ottanta, nel quadro del ridimensionamento della produzione italiana di acciaio.

La riqualifica e il recupero degli spazi del Museo dell’Industria e del lavoro, rispetta l’originaria struttura di mattoni a vista, sulla quale si innestano lavori di reinterpretazione stilistica e di ampliamento.
L’Area del Carroponte corrisponde all’ex parco rottami dell’acciaieria, allestito negli anni trenta e servito da imponenti impianti di movimentazione dei materiali ferrosi destinati ad alimentare i forni elettrici, oggi sfruttato per eventi musicali e culturali.

The Breda steel industry area extended between the north-east Milan direction and the railway (line to Gotthard), over a surface of 300,000 square meters, of which 50,000 were covered (1936). Started during World War I for the manufacture of weapons, the Breda steel industry was gradually dismantled during the 1980s, in the context of downsizing the Italian steel production.
The renovation and recovery of the spaces of the Museum of Industry and Labor respect the original exposed brick structure, onto which works of stylistic reinterpretation and expansion are grafted. The Carroponte Area corresponds to the former scrapyard of the steel mill, set up in the 1930s and served by imposing facilities for handling ferrous materials intended to feed the electric furnaces, today used for musical and cultural events.

Ernesto Breda fondava nel 1903 a Sesto S. Giovanni uno stabilimento per la costruzione di locomotive e grande meccanica, cui fecero seguito la produzione di carrozze ferroviarie, di acciaio e laminati, di aeromobili.
Avviata durante la prima guerra mondiale per la fabbricazione di armi, la siderurgia Breda venne progressivamente dismessa durante gli anni ottanta, nel quadro del ridimensionamento della produzione italiana di acciaio.

Gli ex magazzini generali, costruiti negli anni trenta, ospiteranno l’esposizione museale e spazi destinati alla multimedialità.
